Sanner’s Lake Sportsmen’s Club (SLSC) will be offering the NRA America’s Rifle Challenge Program on Sunday May 15th from 8AM-5PM.

NRA AR Challenge presented by Daniel Defense® is a brand new program designed to take you, the owner of America’s most popular rifle, beyond typical target practice at the range. The AR Challenge offers opportunities to experience new, or further develop your skills and even test them out in shooting exercises. You’ll observe demonstrations on proper shooting from different positions and at varying distances. The AR Challenge consist of demonstration clinics, shooting exercises with your AR rifle platform as well as skill drills to expand your rifle experience.

The SLSC AR Challenge is for AR owners of all skill levels but is tailored for new or less experienced shooters. The program includes clinic demonstrations, shooting skill drills at three shooting stations, a fifty shot rifle range course from distance of 7 yards to 100 yards, lunch, and a raffle ticket.

Equipment needed: detachable magazine semi-automatic rifle with manual safety and conventional semi-auto trigger in .223 minimum up to .30 cal maximum and a minimum of 120 rounds factory ammo (150 suggested, in case of reshoots). A sling is recommended, knee and elbow pads are allowed. See post #3 below for more details.

Lunch will be catered by Mission BBQ. At the end of the day a Windham Weaponry’s SRC .300 AAC BO rifle will be raffled off to the registered shooters and registered guests.

Interested. What is the gear requirement? Just an AR and mags? How many rounds should one expect to shoot?
