Love it. I did not know that Virginia was in the same boat as MD in 1995 with regard to 'may issue'.

Not quite the same boat. In Va the Resident CCW are handled by the individual County/ Independent City. Many of urban counties, particularly in NoVa were Maryland like. But in many of the non-urban counties were defacto almost Shall Issue.

The really big game changer was their strong State Prememtion, with NO Grandfathering.

Mr. Van Cleave was a terrific speaker.

What he seems to do best is to know how to talk to people. He's good at speaking with the media, and they respect him.

Perhaps the best thing he said was that we should talk with those who don't like/don't understand firearms, not oppose them; in that way we can educate those who just think "guns are bad."
