I've been a couple times. Great fun. Carvings & decoys, retriever contests & demos, Albright's Gun Shop. Street vendor with clam and crab chowder is awesome.

Been a few times myself. Love the retriever demos. Last time we went, my Dad and I were asked to leave the Real Estate dude's that had a table set out in his driveway with free oysters, game being you had to shuck them yourself. I guess he wasn't counting on two guys that were good with oyster knives showing up!!! :party29::party29: We weren't taking advantage....we just had few people in our group.

Too busy this weekend...son's at Scout Camp this weekend, plus new windows put in on Friday.

Why would they schedule this on the opening day of the second split of duck season?

It's been the same weekend for 47 years in a row....2nd weekend in Nov.

I'll be at the Gun Show early. Probably skip the Waterfowl Exhibition for this year, but have enjoyed it quite a number of times in the past.

I’m going Saturday to the Easton Gun Show first thing looking for deals.

Let’s plan an afternoon hangout in town during the Waterfowl Festival.

    Who else?

Carpenter street saloon In St. Michaels (only 12 miles away) has the best chipped beef you've ever had. They open at 8 a.m. Corned beef hash is great too. Just sayin'......:innocent0

Normally I’d be all in for chipped beef but I am coming from DC tomorrow so the St. Michaels detour is too far for me.

I will be at the gun show out on Route 50 until early afternoon then looking to gang up in town after 1pm or so.

    PM me Mike...

I will be the guy at the gunshow in the morning with the white goatee ( I look a little older than my avatar now) and the redhead. I or she will have a 10 ga Hammergun and a really long barreled Stevens (John Browning designed) 520 pump gun to sell
Then on to the beer garden by the high school at the Elks lodge for lunch and brews (add a yellow lab at that point)

Mrs.BurtonRW and I have gone every year for nearly a decade. She has to work this weekend, so we went today. Always a good time.

Don’t miss the Dock Dogs competition (at Easton MS).

Look forward to seeing you at the show.

This Beer Garden idea sounds good too.

One of those questions no one can ever seem to answer. Caroline Co always had their banquet the Friday night of the waterfowl festival/eve of opening day but they wised up and moved the date this year!

when I was younger I would leave home in DC or Montgomery county around midnight, drive the 1 1/2 hours, launch the boat & hunt Fishing Bay in the morning then head over to the gunshow afterwards dripping foul smelling bay mud. I'm a little less hard core now, I need my sleep and Fishing Bay isnt for the weak, its 7 inches of water over 12 feet of soft mud.

Up to about 30 years ago it was geared towards hunting. Guys go waterfowl hunting in the morning, limit out by 9 am and go to the various activities, including the gun show. It was common to see guys in muddy camo walking into the lobby of hotels with uncased shotguns and dead birds. Some hotel restaurants would pluck and refrigerate your bird until you were ready to leave town. Other places would cook your bird for you for supper.

Since that time frame WFF became more artsy-fartsy. Very elaborate decoy carvings and art work etc. Lots more money in art then bird shooting.

    Good luck

    Jerry
