So I should have realized this, but being very light on a Garand trigger (or at least mine)...not so good. On my 2nd clip of the day around round 4 I was very, very gently pulling the trigger past the sear release and managed to get it to double with the recoil of the first shot.
Whole. Eee. Shit. The cyclic rates are just off the charts on these things for a .30-06. It drives it home when you double and have to think for a second “what the hell was that?!?”
I’ve accidently doubled a couple of handguns before and my AR15s and even my 10/22...but nothing like doubling a Garand!
I can’t even imagine an m14 under full auto, even being prepared for it (does the M-14 have a lower cyclic rate?)
