Is 6.5 useful for hunting?, everything I've seen is saying its only used for target shooting ,

Seen countless pictures of deer taken with 6.5CM
While we live in a world where it seems that a .300 Win mag or better is needed for the mighty white tail 6.5 is more than up to the task (as is .243, .30-30 all of which pack less punch than the CM.)

yep, federal is showing deer loads for these, with energy at 100 yds:
243 is 1700ftlbs
30-30 is 1350
6.5creed is 2000
308 is 2300

Try Hampstead store. They had Savage rifles on display last weekend, not sure what caliber or stock qty.

My son has taken a number of deer with the 6.5cm using Hornady 140 bullets without any issues. He has also taken a few with the 6.5 Grendel too. The cm is much more efficient than other 6.5 rounds also
