    Anyone rent an engine hoist in this area? I’m in silver spring near the ICC and 650.

    I have finally managed to buy a 4 post car lift. I will have to rent a U-Haul truck and pick it up from the freight company depot in Baltimore in about 10 days. They will load it on but I need an engine hoist to unload it when I get home. The heaviest parts are the ramps at about 500 pounds each.

    HF has a good one for cheap. If you have a 4 post lift, you must be in a car group? None of the car guys have one?

    I bought mine used. I basically built the lift on the car Trailer that was used to move it. Once built and positioned, I added power, raised the lift , moved the trailer, made some finer adjustment and bolted the sucker down.

    Hey, long time lurker here. I too am near NH and ICC on Eldrid Pl. If you need/want an extra set of hands let me know and I will be glad to pop over and meet somebody who obviously shares at least two of my interests.
