It's illegal for an adult to provide a minor with a BB gun or paintball gun, except for the purposes of teaching firearms safety and handling, or for usage at a location designated for the purpose of operating the guns.

I know a lot of people who ignored that law including my grandparents and my parents. Oh the humanity!

My Father gave me a pellet gun when I was a kid. It came with gun safety instruction, a sense of personal responsibility, a respect for authority and a fear of disappointing my Father.

I was never shot by a cop.

my wife today said something along the lines, "ya know, they should really do something about these BB and toy guns looking like real ones." i stared at her for a couple of minutes and said, "ya know. law enforcement is trained with real guns that look like toy ones today because real guns look like toys." she looked at me with a blank stare. "i said instead of trying to re-invent the wheel, why don't we re-educate the people in that if you do not comply with commands, there will be consequences. if you point something that looks remotely like a gun [spoons included-think new york 7 years ago] at someone holding a gun [armed citizen or LEO], it is a good chance you WILL get shot, not once or twice, but what is required to neutralize the threat." she paused for a bit and suggested the red tip to be un-removable. i told her that even if someone with a red tipped gun were to point it at me i would evaluate the situation as quickly as possible, but THAT person would probably be shot if they did not comply with my demands to drop the "imitation" gun, as there have been incidents where criminals put a red tip on real guns to fool LEO's. she asked "what's the answer?" i simply told her, re-train people. respect cops, respect authority. teach respect. she said that is impossible, and i said, "then stupid people will continue to get eliminated from the gene pool." she walked away, took a shower and now has gone to bed.

So...gonna be dating Rosie Palmer for a day or two? :lol2:

I will not give up my phaser until they pry it from my cold dead hand!!!

Is that the one the Franklin Mint issued a few years ago?

Three differences: 1) you can read; 2) you had a mother that taught you right from wrong; and 3) you weren't raised by a culture that seeks to avoid 1 and 2.

Yep. Please turn your poptarts in at my pantry immediately, as long as they are chambered in strawberry frosted or brown sugar frosted.

When I was young I had a Daisy lever action BB gun. I could shoot it any time I wanted in my back yard. Any where else (friend's house, etc.) required permission. My dad had a CO2 powered pistol BB gun. I was only allowed to shoot that under his supervision. He also had a shotgun that I wasn't allowed to touch period. (Until I was older and he taught me to shoot it).

My guess is the kid was probably using the replica to commit robberies...plenty of teens robbing people in Baltimore City these days (via real firearms and look-alikes). Any kid who willing to run from the police is probably up to no good.

What the white peoples don't understand is that minority kids are taught that police kill. If he didn't run he would have been killed regardless.

Master Replicas made 1500 of them some years ago. They scanned the only surviving original hero prop and made it completely out of metal. It's as heavy as a real pistol. I wanted one from the time I was a kid!

I'm just going to cerakote the guns I want to carry a bright orange or red color, that way everyone will think they are just toys, as the politicians said should be done with toy guns. That should solve the problem criminals wont think about going and getting a can of spray paint to do this. "Oh wait he is carrying a toy BANG!"

    This is genius!
