Haven't seen this one mentioned, seems to be under the radar.

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/4009/text

"The term ‘flamethrower’ means any nonstationary or transportable device designed or intended to ignite and then emit or propel a burning stream of a combustible or flammable substance a distance of at least 6 feet.”.

Inclusion in definition of firearm.—Section 921(a)(3)(A) of such title is amended by inserting “, including a flamethrower” before the semicolon.

    (c) Ban on possession or transfer.—Section 922(o) of such title is amended—

    (1) in paragraph (1), by inserting “or flamethrower” after “machinegun”

At least they say designed or intended.

Otherwise there would be a $200 tax stamp on just about every spray can out there.

I was just thinking the other day that flamethrowers have become such a problem lately.........
Jesus, don't they have anything better to do?

Is this a problem? I mean are people really using flamethrowers to commit crimes?

Exactly. I will say though, the flame thrower has to be one of the most horrific inventions to ever hit the battlefield.

I used to use a small one to melt snow. My father used a much larger one to burn the fence line. I thought they were just a basic agricultural tool. Am I missing something. Are there flamethrowers made advertised to defend against humans. WHat about those mole tunnel blaster thingsy?

I remember a fad of getting your car exhaust to throw flame ... some, more then 6 feet. Guess they will need to add that to the safety check here in Maryland. :innocent0

I though flamethrowers were classified as destructive devices already? Im confused.

The bill would kill creating new flame throwers, just like you cannot create a new machine gun.

So if your plan was to use wasp spray and a bic lighter to repel home invaders, you will catch another charge. Disarming America, one piece of legislation at a time...
