Here are some chronograph measurements I took yesterday. This was NOT A SCIENTIFIC TEST! I'm just passing on some data that I was looking for in my guns.

The guns involved were 1, a NAA Mini revolver 22LR with 15/8 barrel, a Titan .25 Italian made (many years ago) semi auto pistol with 2 inch barrel and a Kel Tec P3AT .380 semi auto with a 2.7 inch barrel.

I fired five rounds of each caliber and recorded the average velocity. The screens were set at 12 feet instead of 10 due to the baffles at my club blocking the light. The Chronograph was the red CHRONY with the remote control box.

    .22 Long Rifle

CCI Stinger 32gn HP 894 FPS
Winchester Super Speed 40 grain in red 100 round box. This one surprised me. 821 FPS
CCI Mini Mag 40 gn RN 809 FPS
    Aguilla Interceptor 809 FPS

    .25 ACP

    Win 45gn XPT 761 FPS
    Federal 50gn FMJ 703 FPS
    PPU 50gn FMJ 686 FPS
    S&B 50gn 550FPS

    .380 ACP

Buffalo Bore 100gn tempered lead bullet 1010 FPS
Buffalo Bore 90gn HP 988 FPS
Corbon 80gn DPX copper 925 FPS
Fiocchi 90gn XTP HP 845 FPS

The Buffalo Bore penetrated into the 4th water filled milk jug 21 feet away in tests I did several years ago. I carry it mixed with Corbon DPX in my P3AT. The BB is very snappy load so you need to train with it or you may wind up with feeding issues.

    Enjoy.

Hornady has a 35gr loading for the .25, I wonder how well it stacks up to it's claimed velocity.

*I know it's a round my little Colt 1908 likes, but even in water jugs it doesn't really open up - just deforms.

I don't have any of the Hornady critical defense ammo but I may pick some up at Cabela's tomorrow if they have any. Chrono work won't resume until spring as my old bones don't like working in temps lower than sixty.
