Heard on WGMD today that Worcester county folks and OC officials were discussing non support of the car cruise. They say they are mulling the pro's and con's because of negative public safety aspects and the need to no longer garner support for the "dead" week end prior to Memorial day. Trailers were apparently banned in town not long ago during the cruise and shelving the air show was discussed as well. I find it odd that not allowing legally registered trailers or automobiles and even discouraging their presence on public thoroughfares was pretty interesting. Apparently the cities coffers have been run into the ground as well and they want to spread the tax burden elsewhere, go figure.

They do this every year for a week or two afterwards. Trailers aren't banned either, you just need a permit from the city now.(Its a cash grab) Honestly the police were pretty relaxed this year, and I think some of the locals didn't like that.

I cant remember hearing any discussion like that before it seems foolish to me anyhow to even be talking about it. Doesn't make sense to turn away revenue. I know they halt utility projects for awhile during the summer theres a lot of politics there now so its probably just talk I guess.
