Dude! Sorry for the shenanigans but, this topic has been beat to death on every gun forum on the internet. A Google search can be your friend in these cases. But, I think the AK wins in the recoil battle. (As in "more" recoil")

Well to just answer the question, I would go M16, less recoil, bolt hold open makes easier for mag changes, left side charging handle (verse right).
