Nice that Hillary is home. HTSA
It's a stupid idea to bill this as a safety measure when at the same time, we can't get suppressors to protect our hearing while at the range or hunting without paying a tax to the ATF? Would it be too hard to ask these lib legislators to investigate this crazy new invention called a gun safe? I heard a rumor that when used properly, they stop all accidental shootings and the vast majority of gun thefts?
"Falling Out Of Bed
Getting out of bed in the morning may be hard sometimes, but who would have thought that it could actually be threatening to your life!? 450 people in the US die from falling out of their beds each year."
Outlaw beds !
If these people actually talked to responsible gun owners, they might find that many of us would get behind a common sense law like having guns in a safe. I already keep all of my handguns in safes. The thing is that they don't look at us as citizens with rights. They are so emotionally bound to liberal causes, that they couldn't care less about us, the people they serve.

A gun in a safe is a gun mostly out of reach in an emergency, IMHO.
Respectfully, I could never -- would never -- get behind a mandate that Americans may only exercise their rights only after acquiring a certain device or having a certain storage method. I'd suggest that those thinking about laws and requirements like that give the topic a bit more thought on how they go against our uniquely American traditions and our Bill of Rights. Government mandates like these do not necessarily promote public safety, and in some cases may make situations more dangerous for those needing access to a gun to defend themselves with.
San Francisco mandates that guns be stored in safes. Other cities and states known for their love of denying the right of self-defense are pushing for similar requirements.
U.K. gun owners have to have a constable verify that they have a storage solution in their homes before acquiring a firearm. Inspections can be done at any time. Likewise in Canada, owners of "Restricted" firearms are subject to having their homes inspected at any time by law enforcement to see how the guns are stored.
Neither place observes a right to armed self-defense, nor do these places have a constitution that prohibits their government from performing unreasonable search and seizure.
No thanks.
