Would like to purchase some for field repairs. I think it comes on some Magpul screws etc. Would love to put this on my SS screws for marine applications, would also be great to be corrosion resistant like aero gel. I use a lot of SS screws into aluminum and they need to be protected. I just cannot find it.

Or is it a bad idea for any certain applications. Thanks

I use locking hardware quite a bit at work, especially when our locking inserts are worn out and replacement is not an option.
McMaster Carr is a good resource for locking screws, they usually use a nylon patch imbedded in the screw.

Found it is called simply a polymer patch. Magpul uses Nytemp as I linked above. For smaller quantities (< 5 gal.) Vibra-TITE 213 VC-3 (<$6 for a small tube) is a close substitute. Also Loctite 248 QuickStix .
Can be applied long before actual use and re-used. There is no substitute for a high quality screw! Thanks for the help and ideas everyone.

You'll get no argument from me on the high quality screw!

I mean who does not like a high quality screw????:innocent0

When i go looking for a screw high quality is the goal but in the real world sometimes you have to settle for less than high quality......:innocent0
