    Sadly I've come to the conclusion no one cares about mental health. If we take away the guns, all the mental illnesses will go away. Actually, if we take away the guns, all criminals will give up crime and live peacefully.

    Sometimes the Rights of an individual trump what benefits society as a whole. Once you start going down the "it benefits society as a whole" slope, it gets very slippery indeed.

    this is why the anti second amendment people, and the big government people in general are now deploying the term "Population health."

    Population health is a much broader term than public health.
