How would I go about cleaning the brake on a pinned barrel? Caked on carbon build up. Thanks.

My first thought would be to soak it in a solvent that is safe for the components and not for the carbon. IDK if thats the best way or not.

What kind of break is it? Just curious because I have never felt the need to clean my surefire break. It never really collected build up and it has enough rounds through it that its badly pitted and eroded. And the barrel behind it is pretty much shot out.

I soaked it in cleaner, then used a bore brush chucked into a drill and cleaned it out. I took it to the range this morning but only had access to the 50 yard range. Much better accuracy now. No more .22 conversion kits for this rifle.
