I've had occasion to call the Licensing Division a couple of times lately and instead of a trooper answering the phone like in times past a lady answers and asks "Is this an emergency?"

I've told her no, explained the nature of my call and then get transferred first to Laswick (sp?) who did not return a voice mail and then today I get transferred to another female who was not a trooper.

Makes sense if it frees up the troopers to do investigations and decrease the turnaround time for permits. And yes, I just wrote that with a straight face....

Would truly be great if most of the people in the licensing division could be freed up to go after gang members that are causing all of the violence that caused this whole process

Don't get me started. The lady I spoke with yesterday said that they didn't know who would be assigned to handle my request because the Trooper who issued my original restrictions (Knaub) was no longer with the LD. WTF?

He's still there, just in another section. HQL part I think. Names have changed but the same system remains.
