Followed the advice from Shamr0ck and placed an order from bigtexoutdoors.com for two upppers. I got another genuine Glock G26 complete upper (NEW), and a genuine Glock G43 complete upper (NEW) in anticipation of Polymer80 releasing their own version of the G43.

    THANKS Shamr0ck!!!!

I used the order code gparts and got the pair of them shipped for $646.89. VERY PLEASED!!! Very fast shipping from Texas (Duh) with a tracking number, but I'm still amazed at the price!! My previous benchmark was ~$400 for a complete new Glock factory upper. This is better than USED prices for brand new stuff!! RECOMMENDED!!!!

and Thanks again Shamr0ck for pointing us toward this great vendor!

Happy to help, glad it worked out. I don’t think the credit is mine though as I just have one of those memories and knew I had seen a hell of a deal up thread...

In either case - pix or it didn’t happen ;)

Is p80 definitely coming out with a 43? I haven't seen anything about it.

Word on the street is that we should see the p80 43 coming out this summer hopefully. I’m hopefully for a July 4th drop, maybe even a Memorial Day??

Posting a couple of the latest. This one is just a new slide/barrel and borrowed sights (not installed yet in the pic) and the slide internals from another build:

When I saw the Warhawk slide from Steel City Arsenal I just had to have it. Growing up building WWII fighter models, the P-40, P-51, P-38 etc. Yeah, it was right down my alley. Barrel is a Victory First from Brownells.

    Next is a SC build.

Combat Armory G26 match barrel isn't pictured but was recently installed. Had some extra Ameriglo sights that I slapped on it. Slide is a Wuelf and not currently listed on their site. Stock G26 slide internals from Midway. First range trip was this past Sunday and I had a lot of FTE and stovepipes. I need to polish the rails to see if I can sort that out.

Can anyone give me a reason to keep the red jig after completing the build? I have a habit of keeping things, thinking I might need them one day, only to find it years later, wondering why I kept it!

    WOW!
Those Warhawk slides are AWESOME looking!

Yeah, totally agree. Of course they came out with other colors after I had already bought mine. I'd love to get a Bazooka green one now.

Yes, I opted for FDE cerakote and I'm pretty pleased with it. I've never had anything cerakoted before so I can't really compare it to anything else but I'm happy with the quality of the job and the slide itself.

Nope. It's not heavy enough to be a decent paperweight.

    First Poly80 Build

    Hey everyone...

I did my first Poly80 build Thursday and I am surprised that I was able to do it so easily. I am NOT the handy type of person I wish I was.

I utilized videos on YouTube and the instructions from the website and it went well. However, I am having difficulty with the trigger sticking and not resetting after a dry fire. Does anyone have ideas?

I am not sure how to start to explain what is going wrong but maybe some of the nice folks on this forum can extract the info with the right questions.

    Thanks!

I had a problem just like that, it turned out to be the upper was out of spec. Is is a factory upper? Mine was not. I emailed whoever I got it from (aftermarket) they replaced it. Also rack the hell out of it, like several hundred times.

Yes it is a factory upper from Glock. I will rack the hell out of it and continue to look for things I need to sand down or adjust. Thanks for the help.

Try some polishing compound. I used some from the auto parts store for chrome rims. Then racked bout 167 times and cleaned it up and put a little Mobil 1 on rails. Go to range and load up 100 rounds of +P ammo and have fun !

Sweet! Thanks for the info. Is there any particular polishing compound that you recommend? How about ammo? It was quite an investment to get this done and I don’t want to mess it up!

Thanks—this forum has been helpful... I am new to the gun scene, but I am enjoying the culture!

Any higher grain ammo will help with cycling out some of the reliability issues. Standard +p rounds will do. On the flip side, you can just run with a bit cleaner rounds (no bucket of ammo grade stuff) and it will work itself out.

Polishing compounds, I like Mother’s or simichrome

You could rent it out for $20 for a week. I'd think you could get your money back and more in a few months.
