Is there any AR15 pistols that are legal to purchase in Maryland or can I buy a stripped lower in Maryland?

223/5.56 and 10.5" with pistol buffer length is popular.
With a rail that goes all the way out , you can run peep fixed sights with 1/2 decent sight radius.
Many will run a red dot or something like that.

I have not had any reliability issues with mine.

Read AR pistol posts in the handgun section for what others have done.

I haven’t looked this up. I thought the pistols ran the same buffer and spring as a carbine in 223/5.56. From recent threads I derived the blow back pistol caliber guns used a heavier buffer.

EDIT: for the ‘do a search’ nazi’s.... I did and nada

...and generally more reliable than one with a 8.5" bbl, but I knew if I said 10.5" bbl for the 5.56, someone else would chime in espousing the 8.5" bbl. :) Can't win sometimes.

There are actually two different "pistol length" buffer tubes. One is rifle length and the other is carbine length. I have noticed no difference in performance between the two when paired with a Tubb's flat wire spring.

As Magnumite suggested, PC(C) pistols usually require heavy buffers and heavier buffer springs.

    YMMV
