I have been thinking about it for years and if I had already done it I would have them by now. Just never seemed to get around to it. I finally took the plunge and bought two cans at The Machine Gun Nest.

I wanted a 22 caliber can so I got the SilencerCo Switchback 22. I couldn't decide on what other caliber I wanted to focus on so I ended up getting a SilencerCo Hybrid 46.

I have read good reviews on both. I will eventually get a dedicated pistol can but I want to try to hybrid on a pistol first and go from there. Well after the wait....

So now I just need to forget I bought them and be surprised when I am contacted to pick them up lol

Did you buy these as an individual or as a trust?

Good choices for your first can. I have the Hybrid and while it is a great can it can be a bit heavy on a handgun. I would recommend picking up an Octane 45. It utilizes the same pistons as your Hybrid. You can even buy them all in a set which is what I did. That way I have them all and dont have to worry if I get a new factory threaded handgun whether I have the correct piston. I also have an Octane 45 and love it.

I would also recommend picking up the ASR mount for your Hybrid if you are going to use it on an AR or the like.

I have the Omega 30 and bought a Blackhawk Gas Can when they were discontinued for dirt cheap. I pilfered the ASR that came with the gas can to use on the Hybrid since the Gas Can was bought to be a dedicated thread on 30 call can.

Thanks for the input. I will take a look at the Octane 45.

I plan to use the hybrid on AR15 and AR10 primarily. The versatility of it seemed very attractive. I haven't even started looking at the mounts, pistons, etc. I figured I have a bit of time to sort that out.

google is your friend, I am not.
Good choice for the first can.

Is MGN a Silencershop dealer now- I did not think that they were? How/where did the fingerprints work?

I did some cans through them and great service. I had to do the prints around the corner at the Fredneck Sheriffs place.

My wait was 270 ish days, yours will likely be less.

They had a number of SilencerCo cans. I got the fingerprint cards at the Frederick Sheriffs office. That was walk in and painless. I emailed Nicole at TMGN told her I had my fingerprints, passport photos and which cans I wanted. I went in a few hours later and she had all the paperwork completed and ready for me to review and sign when I got there. Pretty painless really.

The wait is what it is. Nothing to do about it so ill just put it out of my mind.

Just about the time that you forget about the cans, they will show up. I've found its better to keep the pipeline full. Buy one submit, buy another 3 months later etc... the ladder approach LOL.

Congrats. I have also been putting it off. I need to follow suit and get on the horse asap. Just started a new job, so I have to save up for a bit.

so far im at about 240 on a 22 can from last year. I should have bought another can and had it submitted at the same time myself. I wish I had a 99 can for my scorpion right about now dammit.

If you want to see what a Form 1 22LR can can do, send me a PM. You might change your mind on things.

Where are you located? If you are close enough to where I usually am, when in MD, we can link up and you can check it out.

Subs are stupid quiet. Like spring powered pellet rifle quiet.

Supers are about as loud as a CO2 powered paintball gun.

Total cost for mine was about $265, including the cost of the engraving and the tax stamp, but then again I got it as a what the hell and build a can kind of thing. I did get a better kit for my second 22LR can, and spent 190 on that. Also my stamps come back in about 35 days, not 10-16 months.

Realized after re reading my original post may have been poorly worded. I bought the 22 switchback can and the Hybrid 46 can :)

the 22 can was a given, the hybrid is because I could not decide on the non rimfire can so I went hybrid..
My offer is still available. With a eForm 1 taking about a month and you can make the can yourself, it is a fun way to pass the time efile you wait on your Form 4 items to be released to you.
