If starting with a pistol, and going to an SBR, the Form 1 has you provide the overall length. What do you put down for the overall length since you won't know this until you actually perform the modification? In my case I am going from a Ruger 22 Charger to an SBR 10/22.

It doesn't have to be exact.

You make a best estimate. If you're way off when the stamp comes back, send the ATF letter with the revised overall length.

ATF told me to just ring them up with the exact dimensions after the stamp is received and they'll update their records.
