If anyone is using their PCP air rifle for thin skinned rodent control, you should seriously think about trying slugs. I bought mine from a guy on Long Island who makes them himself. His business is called AVS (I forget what it stands for).
When I decided to try slugs, I started calling reviewing all the data I could get and one thing I found was this guy did a workup and video of a .25 Avenger. Since I have a .25 Avenger, it was like striking gold. I asked a million questions and he answered and gave me some suggestions. While they all worked in my gun, one suggested slug is as accurate as a target grade pellet.
After being bored by how accurate (out to 75 yards) these slugs were, I decided to eliminate some of my wire, roof, window eating fluffy tailed rats. These guys are about 2 years old and know my movements and are usually gone before I get outside. If my wife opens the door, they just stand there and chuckle. If I go out, they hi tail it out of range pronto. Not this time.
The foxes got a two fer and they were already gutted. The 38 gn slug expanded inside and dumped all of their energy. The tree rats were DRT with on the run body shots. Hell, I don't even have this tuned for high power and won't until spring.
I think slugs will also be a game changer in .22 as well. The will extend your range for sure.
