Just picked up a 500 rd box of 168 gr and a 500 rd box of 175 gr.

Anyone worked up any loads for these? If so, how did they perform? Certainly cheaper than Bergers and SMK's. I'm not expecting the same performance, but I'm hopeful they are somewhat close.

I'm going to use the 168 gr for an M1903/M1 Garand load and the 175 gr for a .308 load for a Remington 700.

    What defect makes them seconds?

I'm not sure...they don't have an obvious blemish but I have noticed that they don't seat as well as Sierra's.

I'm using a Forster Co-Ax and Forster dies. After FL sizing, I measure .000 to .0005 concentricity on a 21st Century gauge.

After using the Forster seating die (which typically gives me the same concentricity measurement as what the neck has prior to seating), I'm getting .001 to .0015 more.

Still gets me within .001 and .002 TIR, so I don't think that it would have much if any impact on accuracy....but it is curious.

I have yet to shoot my reloads, so no idea if there is any difference.

I am interested to hear the result on the range. I’ve kind settled in the thinking that of all the factors driving accuracy, projectile is paramount. To the point where I often weigh them into lots!

SMK seem to have the least variation, but I haven’t tried everything out there....
