Walmart is posting its IL stores with a sign that has the ISP approved No guns signs complete with the required statute cited, but has added Notice for on-duty employees, and vendors only. Complete with a walmart copyright 2013 at the bottom.

the intent is to prevent employees from carrying on the job, but due to the legal stature cited, may not have the effect that they wanted, and may still be legally binding, which has force of law in IL.

It is my understanding that walmart has never posted its stores in other states.

    There's your sign!?!?!?

If it only applies to employees and onsite vendors, then it should be more of a corporate insurance liability issue. Many companies have a no fight back policy.

And they probably shouldn't cite the IL statute, as it doesn't make the distinction I'd guess.

But probably their right as a property owner and employer.

They should have posted it in the employee only area of the store, not on the front door. Due to the law statute language at the bottom could be binding against everyone, not just the employees and vendors. It somebody calls in a MWAG, it may not have force of law, but depending on the LEO you may still take the ride, and have it get sorted out in court.

The sign was sent to the ISP so find out if it would be legal binding against all carriers, and they basically refused to answer the question. It probably won't be a problem in areas outside of Cook County, but at this time we do not know, and may take a court case to determine the outcome.

    The front door makes sense.

If one is carries alot, they normally forget about their sidearm, just like people forget to turn off the ringer on their cell phone.

    It’s a request not a law

    Do as you please

Worst that can happen is you get asked to leave.

    Comply and leave no issues
