I am very interested to see how this turns out. I have the same rifle and don't have the balls to paint this gun. Good luck!

Three different colors in that one and just twigs and junk from around the yard for the details.

Only advice I can offer is make sure the thing is CLEAN, use laquer thinner or some similar so you can ensure any and all oil is off the surface. Also THIN coats go a long way. I clear mine with a matte clear for an additional layer. Light coat first, then next darkest then darker yet etc, you can always add more unless you stripe and start over it's hard to take away.

What exactly do you mean by this?

He means it's only original once.

Polymer parts don't bother me but I give metal parts alot of consideration.

Krylon fusion is made to bond with plastics. But on anything but a beater scraped up paint looks craptacular. If I am going to "paint" the metal parts I consider raw parkerizing the ideal base for a "paint" type finish. So unless I am willing to go all the way I limit my paintjobs to plastics.
