Raskin clearly is seriously misinformed. What he claims has absolutely zero empiricle evidence to support it. He is yet another person who immediately jumps for firearms to nuclear weapons, as if that's the next logical progression. I'd call him an idiot, but idiots might take offense to being thrown into the same boat with Raskin.

I actually agree with Raskin... sorta. It doesn't make any sense for individuals to choose rifles when mass murdering in gun-free zones. Handguns can be equally lethal, easier to conceal, easier to carry more magazines, easier to shoot two at a time, etc. I honestly believe one of the factors people like Adam Lanza use in these "for show" killings is the "coolness" of the gun. He had several handguns in his possession, right? It's not to say that these people kill because of how the gun looks, or that the cosmetic features make the gun any more lethal, or that they wouldn't kill if the gun didn't look as awesome, but I do believe the appearance of the gun is a factor for people who are otherwise fairly uneducated in firearm use (assuming they have the option of picking the type of gun).

This gun will make you want to go on 6 shooting sprees all at the same time, and at 6 different places, because it is so intensely cool looking. ( this pic actually makes me laugh my butt off, in no way does it make me feel violent...)
