I haven’t personally but my buddy did and had an awful experience. Ordered a 458 socom upper and it had a 5.56 bolt in it. Customer service lied about when they would shop and new one out. Finally got it and it didn’t have any gas rings on the bolt. 2 more weeks to finally get it

The big issue with the market right now is that every Tom, Dick, and Harry is out there slapping components together and selling stuff of dubious origin for premium prices. It's times like these that I tend to trust places that are mainstream but back-ordered far more than fringe companies.

That's not to say that this place is necessarily "bad" (though Cotman's secondary experience certainly seems to throw a bad light on them) but it's definitely a 'caveat emptor' situation for all but the mainstream folks right now (and even then, I suspect the build quality to be diminished due to the demand right now even with the more mainstream folks). I have a buddy who purchased an upper with a 2 week lead time form Moriarti arms despite my warnings. It's been a month now and they won't even get back to him when he asks what's going on.

Yeah this is the landscape I’m trying to navigate at the moment. I’ll probably just make the hike out to hanover armory to see if they have any complete uppers for sale or can build one for me.

Thanks for sharing, helped dissuade me from buying from them!

No problem. On the plus side 6.5 grendel ammo seems to be some you actually get. Might get an upper also. Let me know if you find a decent deal from a reputable company

This. Go to gunshows now and 30-40% are knock offs that are being sold way below the real thing but still way above what its worth.
