Went through a Springer Mil-Spec for a friend.
The trigger was decent but heavy, gritty. Shot pretty good and functioned well. I went through the pistol front to back correcting and improving all aspects of the pistol. I made the following changes of note to the group.
- Smooth out slide/frame sliding surfaces, action work, touch up barrel fit, fitted MGW barrel bushing, smooth out all rough operation. Functions and shoots well enough. I like this pistol.
- Part of going over a Springer Mil-Spec pistol...stippling! A little in progress transition shown here. Feedramp touchup, too.
- Trigger work done and set to a smooth 4.0 pound release.
Shot it with Aguila and Federal (830 fps) 230 ball, 25 yards, standing, two hands, 4” bullseye. As usual, Federal won. Two targets, Federal fodder. The high center and lower right shots were the first two called shots and me not quite on the top of the front sight. One shows a full compliment of a seven round mag. The second a second compliment of a seven rounds over the first. Notice the paired fliers (in light outer left side of group). Fitted barrel would help or I am a very consistent flincher. Both perhaps.
