Good morning. I recently moved back to Maryland from Pennsylvania. As lib-tarded as this state is, it is beautiful, and it’s where extended family lives. I’m glad to have found this group. Thanks to whomever maintains the site. At least we ended up on the “shit-house side”if I’m remembering the Donald Schaefer inspired bumper stickers from the 80s correctly. Unless you’re trying to take the kids sledding downhill (Flatter than Colin Kaepernick singing the National Anthem) in the snow, the Eastern shore is pretty cool.
I grew up in the country hunting a lot. I’m very comfortable with guns but no aficionado or subject matter expert. I had a Harrington and Richardson 20 gauge single shot that managed to be adequate my entire childhood from squirrels to deer. Once in awhile I could use my dad’s A5 12ga. In PA I carried every day.
All work and no play turns jack into a dull boy. So this year I’ve started shooting and hunting with my three kids. Unfortunately the whole country is bat guano crazy this year. I got my one son a .22 Remington speed master for his birthday recently. Being in gun shops reminded me Of being in the toilet paper aisle at the grocery store last March. Difference being, everyone knows how to wipe their own ass. I heard one fellow ask the counter clerk “what kind of bullets do shotguns take”, etc. I feel a little disconcerted and concerned about the general atmosphere around us as I’m sure we all do. We’ve also been doing quite a bit of archery, I want to get into black powder too. My brother had a TC Hawkin that we used to shoot and except for cleaning it, it was a blast.
I am much more interested in hunting and target shooting with the kids than in any tactical gear or exercises. I’m a sucker for Walnut and blued steel. I just cannot get excited about AR etc. guns that look like my kids airsoft toys. I totally get it, it’s just not my thing.
I’m looking forward to learning from you guys, and contributing where I can. Thank you PM

Welcome from Anne Arundel County and AAF&G. If you're looking for a place to bring the boys to experience many shooting disciplines in a very safe environment stop by any Saturday.

Thanks for the invite to the gun club. Most of my families in Anne Arundel so I might take you up on that. My dad’s got a farm down in Lothian where we shoot sometimes.
We’ve got a place in the country here in Queen Anne’s, so we can shoot out back for a little while at a stretch. We do have neighbors along the road, all of whom are home all day, so I don’t feel comfortable shooting for more than half an hour or so for their sake. Somehow, every house we’ve ever lived in had neighbors all around that don’t leave the house for work. No joke. Sometimes going to work is hard enough, but when everybody else on your road seems to not have to go anywhere, makes you wonder if everybody knows something you don’t.
    Thanks for saying hi guys.
