Most of the people shooting 308 at our range shoot reloads that cost them say $0.25 each. Most times those shoots are once a year. So it might very well be that he spends $1500 on ammo once a year and shoots it all in 2 days. While thats a good chunk, you don't have to be super rich for that. You just have to reload and buy components in large volume when you get them cheap. Last time I bought 308 I paid 23 cents a round for surplus and bought 8K rounds.

Please advise where this treasure trove is located in 2021 where you can reload .308 for $0.25 or buy surplus .308 for $0.23?

    My thought exactly.

Last time I shopped, 150 gr FMJ were 17 - 18 cents each.

I work on a guys boat who’s annual slip fee in Annapolis is $24k. There are much more expensive hobbies than NFA. My boat is not that fancy but I also only have a lowly MAC10

I have raced sailboats and cars.

Both those make machine guns look cheap.

An M4 lower from FN or Colt probably cost .gov a few hundred at most.

How much does the military pay per M4?
Their bid severely undercut Colt's previous contract, which priced the rifles at over $1,200 a piece. FN's contract with the Army is $77 million for the first 120,000 rifles, which works out to a bottom line of just under $642 per M4A1.

I would happily pay twice that. :D

Timing is everything. When the time is right, you have to buy big and stack it deep.

In 2021, I did jut get 6K of 7.63x39 wolf for under 24cents a round... from a deal offered in 2020 that anyone would have signed up for. Its not great but for the times its not bad.

I still drive a 1999 Ford F-250, 7.3 diesel, six speed manual. The money I haven’t spent on new vehicle payments have bought me 13 transferable machine guns. Mac 11a1. Mac11-9. Mac 10-45. Two new mini uzis, one shooter mini. Full size uzi. Shooter ac556. New stainless ac556. Hk G3 push pin. Hk G3SG1 push pin. Hk MP5 sear gun. And my home defense gun, Ramo M2HB. I’m planning on another 300,000 miles worth of toy and investment money too. If it breaks in half, it’s getting welded back together until there’s absolutely nothing left!!!
