I have now installed the CST automatic bolt stop in my new rifle.

    http://www.cstmtech.com/absk.html

That was a bit of a job, and my first foray into bubba-smithing. The kit was definitely not a drop-in installation for the Zimmerman receiver. After installing it I could barely even pull the bolt back. Perhaps it is is a drop-in on a Ruger receiver. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, since the kit is nicely made. I had to do some work on the bolt and the new parts to get it all to work right. Now it is perfect as far as I can tell without having fired real ammo. Modifying the magazines was easy, as I had predicted. I now have 3 that work with this setup.

here are some photos from the installation.

This is where the bolt lock was rubbing the bolt, and you can also see it was right on the edge of the spot on the bolt where it needed to make contact.

Here is some grinding on the bolt lock to make it flush with the trigger group housing so the bolt slides over it without interference.
I also had to mill out the pocket (not visible) on the bolt lock where the pin attaching the trigger group to the receiver goes through.

I am quite happy with the kit now that it works as advertised. Hopefully for the Ruger receivers it is a simple drop in. For the Zimmerman it was a 6hr job for a hack. All said and done it was a fun learning experience.
    Hope someone finds this useful.

I am pretty sure the hi-caps can be modded just as easily, although fixturing the mag will need more creativity unless the throat can be removed. With a steady hand this could be done with a dremel. I thought that the dremel was the universal gunsmithing tool anyway, everyone should have one ;)

Is there a print for modifying magazines? I bought a Volquartsen auto bolt release in error and would like to get the CST item to get bolt held open on empty mag.

I have a Bridgeport in the garage and machining skills, just need a print.

    Thanks,

    Szumi

When you get the kit from CST it will come with one 10 round mag that they modified. That magazine is your print :) when you see it up close you will have no problem seeing how to make your other mags look just like it.
The new BX-25 mags can also be modified to work.
