Nothing exotic for me, just the standard stuff. In pistols, .22 LR, 9mm, and .45 ACP. In rifles, .177 and .223/5.56x45. In shotguns, the Remington 870 and VEPR both in 12 gauge.

For collection growth, I am trying to resist any new calibers for a year or two if I can. I am hoping no more guns till next year. But my wife will literally skin me alive if she finds out how many I own now (from like 7 including my muzzleloader 14 months ago to 17 in a few days) even if a couple have been gifts (she knows about the gifts and a couple of other purchases like the Garand and a “Cold war handgun”. Depends on what she sees in the safe, that could be the Walther P1, P64, Cz-50 or M57 Yugo).

A little easier if she realizes a couple of years from now if I only collect another gun or two each of the next few years. Makes it seem like that got spread over all of those years. Plus a gun or two I plan to sell.

Once I do expand calibers, it’ll probably either be .38/.357 or .45acp next. Eventually I want all of those as well as 10mm. I have no interest in .40S&W, though odds are good I’ll get a couple of handguns in that handed down to me some day.

    I’d also like 22wmr.

No particularly strong desire for any other calibers. A .300 winmag, .338 Federal or something similar is probably also on the table as is 6.5 Creedmoor if it stays popular.

But I do want to focus on more guns in calibers I already own for my next few guns. Finish building an AR-10, get a Ruger American in .233 and in 6.5 grendel, Ruger PCC. That sort of thing.

No 45 Long Colt? Only communists don't have something in 45 Long Colt.

I have commie guns in commie calibers but no 45 Colt. When I had the choice I picked 44 Special since i already reload for it.

Does a Garand 30-06, M1 carbine or 1911A1 buy forgiveness?

Hey, this could work out! Why do I need ANOTHER gun? Because people are making fun of me. :)

I have one those rifles; can you even get ammo for it?? It's an antique. I think it will shoot, at least once

These guns are perfectly safe to shoot. And oodles of fun.

Ammo is available, but damned expensive. I make my own ammo using modified 50-90 Sharps brass and 405 grain bullets cast from wheel weights.

Black powder, as well as Benchmark smokeless powder, work well as propellants.

    She's a thumper.

I’ve consolidated a lot and and am down to 9mm, 22lr, and 5.56. I’ll probably build up my collection again when I move out of the state.
