blair's valley on both sides, rifle season is downright dangerous, small game, spotty.
the section at indian springs is less accessable, and may be safer.
i wear the orange, and have still been fired on several times, most wear camo, and while my license was often checked, there was no enforcement of wearing orange.
i went down in caliber, from 30-30, 7.62x39, finally 357 lever. i am quaint and often stopped by the guys carrying magnums, 06, 270, etc. everybody is overgunned for how close in proximity
everybody ends up. prathers neck is less crowded, much safer, i usually end up in my 4th or 5 scouted spot. have not been shot at there yet. not much in small game in my experience.
Don't go up there during any gun season!!! I stepped over the hill from the pond on the last day of rifle and there was an orange hat and vest every 40 yards. If a deer rn though that field more men than deer would die.
I hunt there a lot, archery and muzzle loader aren’t bad. Rifle it gets crowded near the road, if your willing to put in the work to get away from people it’s not bad.
