So, Saw the first fawn across the end of my yard today. Smallest fawn I have ever seen so it could not be that old. Did not come up to the mom's belly even.
I thought they would have started to drop last month or even sooner ? No?

My wife and I were discussing this yesterday evening. Have been seeing some deer back behind the house but no fawns as of yet. The woods are really thick this year with all of the rain we have had so the fawns might be there just out of sight.

Old timers used to say that when the bracken (large fern species) unroll, fawns drop.

Same old wisdom with associating dogwood blossoms with turkey breeding season and gobblers gobbling.

Cutting grass over at the range, 4' from grass edge. I stopped to spray permethrin around the bench, he got some so no deer ticks on this guy. He never batted an eye!!

Sitting around talking with #1 son last night and he says “hey pops, bow season really isn’t that far away.”

Lol we haven’t even gone crabbing yet.

I haven’t seen fawns but I’ve seen a lot of goslings.

Goslings are everywhere at my job site. The ground is covered with the handy work of the "Canadian Poopers" as my kids call them.

My mom had 2 fawns on her property up in PA but haven't seen any here yet. As someone mentioned though, the foliage is pretty thick this year from what seems like constant rain.

No kidding! Like 3 1/2 months away. I forgot to take the feeder down over the winter and took it down 2 weeks ago. Yesterday, realized, I will probably put it back up next month anyway. I want those does raising thier young around my house.

    ditto on crabbing.

Just got mine out to start practicing yesterday eve. Never to early to practice.

I seen 15 deer when I went shooting tonight in a watermelon field no fawns that I seen they probably drowned because of so much water pooled up. There out there somewhere probably bogged down in the mud where I'm at.
Couple of lone gobblers still strutting on the way.

Checked the trail cams and it looks like we have at least one fawn around.

There was a fawn walking through the browse just above the impact area on the 100-yard range at AGC yesterday morning. A few weeks ago I saw a doe and its fawn moving across the Trap Range before opening time. Other than that I've seen less wildlife this year than in years past.

I haven't seen a fawn yet this season, several deer out in the back field almost nightly but no little ones.
