Which is the correct date to use for 'Receipt' when an online auction purchase is made:
    a. The date I won the auction
    b. The date I sent the check to pay for the purchase
    c. The date the check was cashed
    d. The date the gun showed up at my house

My intuition tells me d. but I cannot find this information at the ATF page.

    Thanks!

You don't own it until you take possession of the firearm. I do believe the books says the date that you receive the firearm.

WOW, we have 3 people on MDs who agreed on something. Thank goodness for little miracles. ;)

You all are wrong. It's the date you first looked at the firearm or auction.
