Would like to know myself. Finished my interview several weeks ago and was told all my references had been contacted. Still have heard nor received nothing yet. Hoping no news is good news but, then again this is the PRofMD we're talking about here! :envy:

The questions are all typical. Do you have G&S?. I'm very surprised to hear the investigation interview was conducted over the phone. I say that because it sounds like you do, or you feel you do have G&S and the few people that reported they got the phone interview did not get the permit.

My interview was also over the phone and I was approved in under 90 days. It helps to have documentation of previous police reports if you've been a victim of crime. If you don't have G&S or fit exactly into one of MSP's categories, then applying is a waste of time and money.

Worth a shot, the big condition for MSP is money transportation. They will most certainly restrict you to business only.

Emailed MSP about my ccw permit:

Your application is still in a pending status. The HG permit process is a 90 business day process not to include weekends or holidays. All applications are reviewed in the order in which they come in. Your application was received on 5/01/13. A decision will be made on your application on or before 9/01/2013. Thanks for your patience

Ridiculous. I also got proof of delivery on 4/26

I'm the business owner here, and my permit is strictly for financial transactions. Essentially what you are stating. With a letter from the owner stating his consent, I would assume this would fly. At the very least, you get to carry to and from work. It's better than nothing.

I mailed my app on Monday April 22, it was received by MSP on Wednesday the 24th and the check was cashed on Friday the 26th. When I was interviewed by the investigator he told me mid to late July to hear something back because, in his words, they hired more people to handle the apps and are trying to get their back log down.

So I was reading the Utah gun permit laws and it said we have to obtain a gun permit in our home state. So even then I still wouldn't be able to get one? Also, what other state gun permits are accepted here?

double check that. I think that law only applies if your state is a shall issue state.

I have a question on the rationale. I heard that someone with a DC as long as its worded right has a good chance to get it. Can someone help me with the wording if that is true?

I was specifically told that my C&R and DC (brought up during the review conversation), along with transporting multiple firearms for competition or display, would have no bearing on providing G&S under the current "guidelines".

Question, I am an avid poker player and often frequent the casino a few times a week with large amounts of cash in excess of $1000. I was wondering if this is a valid reason to apply for a permit (i dont want to waste an application fee if they will not consider it). Once the casino opens in baltimore city next summer I will be there every couple of days playing poker at night and would like a carry permit as I will be traveling with large amounts of money in the city. Thoughts?

I wouldn't waste your money - they will not give you a permit.
