In Maryland the bad guy would be the man who shot the rapist. Grand jury, lawyer up and hope they don't end up broke or in prison.

These so called "parents" are more upset about the loss of income and products that were generated by their young urban entrepreneur's activities than the loss of the young urban entrepreneur himself. They would also prefer that their "child" be killed by a cop than a lawful citizen because it's much easier to sue the presumably deep pockets of government and get a settlement.

This. There's a segment of the population that places no value on human life, even their own offspring. Sad, pathetic, and disgusting.
