    I completely agree with Joppa. Granted my shotgunning experience is leaps and bounds behind some folks on here, but a shotgun with just a pistol grip simply isn't the way to go for HD.

    As for the pistol/shotgun debate, the shotgun is definitely the superior weapon. As such, I keep mine within arms reach at night. I don't want a scenario where I have to "fight my way to the shotgun."

    my boss's best friend is an ATF agent. He asked what was the best thing to protect your house. His reaction was, Pump Action Shotgun. All you have to do is pump it and most intruders will instinctively run. That said, i have a Glock26 by the bed, and a Saiga12 if someone really wants to have a bad day.

    thats why i put a stock on mine, i feel much more comfortable/accurate shooting from the shoulder ESPECIALLY if seconds count
