I have an older (~30yrs old) Mossberg Model 500AT. It has a wooden stock and grip and I have my fathers 500A (~15yrs old) that had a sythetic stock.
I went to switch them out over the weekend. The slide and foregrip came off easily on my falthers, but when I went to take the foregrip off on my 500AT it would NOT come out. Kept stopping just as the guides were about to clear the inside rail.
Was able to unscrew the end cap on the foregrip and put the sythentic stock on the foregrip frame that the wooden one had but the wooden foregrip is too big/long for the other slide frame.
Is there a reason why the foregrip will not come off the older 500?
