Thanks. Much more eloquent than I could have put it.

If you look at MD Statute, the various punishments for law breaking does list if it is a felony or a misdemeanor. Of course you can have misdemeanors with 5 year prison sentences...

Yes it is always identified as one or the other. And quite right

I'm a law abiding citizen. Have a collector's license, a handgun qualification license, 2 out of state carry permits and never committed a crime. I cant get a carry permit in socialist Maryland either. Love to see the Supreme court address this injustice and Marylands denial of our constitutional rights.

In Maryland even if you are Mother Teresa MSP will say "NO!" However Moby down in Bal-mo not only has a better gun then you and carries it, he has been convicted for much worse. If you can own a firearm, move to a state that is Constitutional Carry like WV.

Not going to happen with that, "Resisting Arrest," on your record, and the disorderly conduct charges don't help either...

IF it was LONG ago, and you are MUCH older and wiser now, and are a pillar of your community, you might seek to have your record expunged, but that will be an iffy improvement, at best, and probably a serious expense.

Let me toss this in the arguement. If you EVER had anti anxiety meds prescribed, even if you never filled it, you will need a letter from your doc.
My divorce was nasty, (towards me), I lost a total of over $400k to my ex who had a 7 figure trust. I "lost" my girls, all and all sucked. My old doc prescribed anti anxiety med, I told her I didnt want them, I felt I had a good reason to be unhappy. I NEVER EVEN FILLED the RX. MSP saw the RX, and wanted a letter from my doc stating some like "under the care without issue" all she had to do was sign, they printed out a letter I took to her. I had been her patient for almost 20 years. Her stance was "only police should have guns, they protect you" I asked where they were as I was staring down a shotgun barrel? She stood fast at "people shouldn't have guns" she told me she was worried I would hurt anyone, or myself, just guns were for cops.

Just giving you a heads up,,, as many docs love to write RXs,

I am lucky I found an awesome PCP to use, who isn't an antigun nazi. I'm not sure why he insists on prostate exams every time I'm there,,, I guess because I am mid 50s
