For anyone looking the Hagerstown Dicks sporting goods has the RPR in .308 and .243 right now. I grabbed the 6.5 this morning before it was even unboxed :P

Not a purpose built precision rifle but my most accurate. My elk rifle:

Tikka T3 Lite Stainless 30 06 topped with a Burris Veracity 4-20X50. The prairie dogs and coyotes will be my test targets for big game this year. Pardon the partial camo wrap, took it off to install the scope.

My new Rem 700 Long Range in .300 Win Mag. This one will be coming with me to Northeast Texas for hogs. Mounted a Leupold VX-3L 4.5-14x50 scope (B&C reticle) and installed a Timney trigger. RCBS dies have been ordered.

Nice rifle. I love mine, it's the softest-shooting 300 win mag I've ever shot. Enjoy!

    Hello Bolt lovers,

I'm in the market for a .223rem bolt and was hoping to find out what twist I should be looking at for short to med range shooting. No more than 300yds, for now.

I might be willing to sell a savage 223 tactical, believe it's 1:12 twist.

To be honest under 300 twist won't matter as much, 52gr flat base bullets generally work great. Past that distance you will need a1:8 or 1:7 twist so you can shoot the 75gr or 77gr pills.

Depending on barrel length, you may even be able to get away with a 1:9 twist.

My Savage 10FP-LE was originally a 24" 1:9 .223, had excellent 300 yard accuracy with 75gr Hornady Match pills - as sleev-les' helium tank can attest to that.

It seems 6.5 Creedmoor RPR's are attracted to Nightforce glass.

I will be taking mine to the class as well, however I have a weaver(what I had laying around), but it's mildot....going to take me a while to adjust from MOA.

I got a chance to zero my 6.5 RPR last night. I am very pleased with this gun so far. I cleaned the barrel using wipe-out then shot 3 rounds, adjusted zero, shot 3 rounds, then shot a 5 shot group. Shot number 4 was a called pull, im very impressed that it is shooting so well this quickly with a new cleaned barrel.

    Ballistic AE.

    $19 and worth every penny.

Anyone know an Android equivalent to the above app (which is not available in the Google Play store) that they have actual experience with? Mostly interested in the ability to take target pics, provide ref points for dimensions, and obtain MOA information.
