Find a butcher who gets slabs of bacon. Buy slabs uncut.

Kept cool, they last for a very long time. Smoking and drying was the country way of preserving meat.

If it grows mold, just clean off the mold. It does not hurt the meat.

But, bacon..
This should be the takeaway from this thread.

I was just testing it. It passed.
Now back to better bacons

don't laugh, but I bought mine at BUD K. They had a coupon and free shipping. stupid expensive, but was somewhere around 16 dollars delivered. also not bad for emergency meds.

Bought a case a few years ago because it was to do and its not bad for use if calories are needed. It can also feed a small scout troop for a weekend.

When Yoders stuff comes back in stock I am stocking up. I’m good on bacon but they have ground beef and chicken as well.

During a tour in Germany in the 1960's, my family did a lot of camping in our efforts to see as much of Europe as we could. Canned bacon was a food staple in our camping supplies. I believe we were able to buy it off the shelf in the commissary.

Agreed. Good in a pinch but wouldn’t be my everyday choice. But I’m definitely keeping some for a SHTF situation.

I need to get more cans of Yoder Bacon. It's lonely by itself.

I know you are a corned beef hash lover. This is my homemade handy work this morning.

I ordered another case of Yoders bacon from Pleasant Hill. Even my wife likes it and she was making fun of me for getting it.
