Elkton Walmart Shoplifter Run Over/Killed By Getaway Car

Darwin award winner?

Quote:
Cunningham, Mayo, 38, and Donisha Jaquil Harris, 26, all of Wilmington, walked into the Walmart on East Pulaski Highway around 1 a.m. and filled a shopping cart with $1,194 worth of clothing, food and household goods, Zurolo said.

Pushing the cart, they walked out of the store without paying, he said. A security guard asked for a receipt, but the women kept walking to the car. He followed them out and started taking photos of the women loading up the car.

Police said Mayo kept trying to drive while Cunningham was stuck under the car, but couldn't move. She and Harris got out and ran, Zurolo said.

Police and emergency crews lifted the car to remove Cunningham, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, Zurolo said.
Only $25,000 bond for homicide? WTF?
Quote:
Mayo was charged with negligent manslaughter by a vehicle, negligent auto homicide under the influence, reckless endangerment, theft of over $100 and under $1,500, and con-theft of over $100 and under $1,500. She posted $25,000 bond on Monday.

Shoplifted $1200 worth of goods BUT paid their part on a $25k bond? Don’t you still have to pay 10% of the bond amount? Been better off just pay for the goods but I guess they had that Baltimore attitude... prepping for the looting during the storm.

Haven’t read the link but I’d be surprised if they didn’t have security video of the whole thing.

I didn't think it was possible to put 1,200.00 worth of crap in a Wal-Mart cart. Either way, a feel-good story.

How the hell do you fit $1200 worth of walmart crap ('clothes and groceries')in a single shopping cart?

Something not right with this story...

Mayo and Harris were arrested at a nearby Royal Farms. Police found open alcohol in the car, and Zurolo said Mayo smelled of alcohol.

Ban alcohol it made them do it !!!

Police say 35-year-old Keneesha Cunningham was sitting in the trunk of the car, trying to shield the license plate from a store security guard.

Chermaine Tee Mayo backed out of the parking space, and kept reversing through the lot, hitting one curb, then another, according to Elkton Police Capt. Joseph Zurolo.

Cunningham fell out of the trunk and was pinned underneath, Zurolo said.
Sounds like she needed a trunk monkey
