I think we're in 100% agreement based on this post.
I think we're in 100% agreement based on this post.
Keep saying what you think.
I don't care what anyone identifies with. If someone says they are a hard corps 'Antifa' or a 'White Supremacist' I hate their ideas equally, but we don't round people up based on their ideas. We welcome them to express those ideas (1st Amendment). What we arrest people for is their behavior. After they are arrested, they are considered innocent until proven guilty. We are a democratic republic.
The political left, or DemocRATs as I prefer to call them, have long relied on their radical fringe to do their dirty work. 'Means to an end' as Alinsky and his accolades like Ayers, Obama and The Hildebeast would say in justification of violence and other criminal behavior. But as Rev. Wright wishes he'd never uttered ... "Their chickens have come home to roost."Does the left have any kind of speed bump for radicalism?
The Democrats were quickly overrun by the left with little resistance. Within little more than a decade, they were on board with Socialism. A few weeks ago, the media was full of editorials calling for the end of free speech. It certainly didn't appear that the Democrats, now a leftist party, or what was now the mainstream left, had any ability or desire to resist further radicalization.
But that was largely because there was no tactical reason to do so. Instead the left had tactical reasons to open the door wide open. The radicals were better at accelerating change. That's always been their calling card. And the Dems were far more afraid of their own left than any kind of mainstream opinion.
That was the initial response to Antifa violence. But now the tactical damage is starting to pile up.
However, the Feds and other law enforcement need to start arresting MORE of them, as opposed to the half-dozen or so who have attacked LEOs.
The video evidence I've seen to date overwhelmingly shows violent antifa anarchists dressed head to toe in black and exhibiting violent behavior, Put that and whatever 'embedded' intelligence gathered before a grand jury and get some indictments issued. Squeeze their quasi-leaders to 'give up' the network and funding. We all have suspicions of their sources and methods, but no one doubts that the black bloc and it's affiliates make up a coordinated effort to destroy our republic.
A thought to remember, Marx said, "Remove one freedom per generation and soon you will have no freedom and no one would have noticed."
There was a professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class.
One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter.
The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting Communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.
In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs ?" The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food.
When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.
Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America & Canada. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for earned income (EITC), tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.
One should always remember two truths:
There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.
If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America & Canada, you might want to share this with your friends.
If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then you will probably not share this.
BUT, God help us all when the gate slams shut !
What if they had a revolution and no one noticed ... or how to catch feral pigs.
My point being that we're WAY past the breaking point, it's just that the gate hasn't slammed shut yet.
Never heard this in history class.

Do you think the military, acting on orders from a broken federal government, won't march against its own civilians? Hard to believe this happened 85 years ago.

MacArthur, Patton and Eisenhower were all involved in "attacking" vets and their families.

I agree: arrest based upon behavior and the arresting officer's interpretation of the law. Don't throw the arresting officer under the bus, they have a tough job. However, the Feds and other law enforcement need to start arresting MORE of them, as opposed to the half-dozen or so who have attacked LEOs.
Did I mention EL1227, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and diving in here?
Your money was "nationalized" in the bank bailouts - and is "nationalized" every day in the form of implicit government backing of private banks. Private profits, nationalized losses.
That was a major part of Chapter 1 of Unintended Consequences if I'm not mistaken.
I've gotta get that book out and read it again!
