I recently found this pistol at an antique show, it's .65 caliber and is engraved with a hidden trigger that folds down when the hammer is cocked. The only marking on the gun is a #2 on the bottom of the barrel.
Can anyone identify this high caliber evil assault pistol? I'm thinking it's from the 1840's.

French percussion folding trigger boxlock, or English folding trigger percussion boxlock. The 3rd looks pretty similar. Some double-barrel models available of that, too:

    This says French style:

Definitely looks like it, I wonder how old it is. Got it for very little and hoping it's worth more than I payed. The left always talks about how evil and dangerous .50 caliber guns are. If only they knew 160+ years ago we had .65 caliber pistols, they might lose their minds even more!

Probably not as bad as you think. That gun would use a small black power load. Doesn't quite compare to modern cartridge ammo using smokeless power.
