    Blah, blah, blah

I carry a handgun on occasion for some years now. I thought that my cleaning of a pocket 380, small 9 mm and a snubby was good enough when I thought of it. Evidently not.
I've been on vacation and puttering. Cleaning the guns, I took them apart to clean and included the magazines.
Wow! The internals of the guns had more lint than I would have thought but the magazines were bad. I should have taken them apart more often, but it didn't occur to me and I'm lazy.

Don't be me. Strip and clean guns and mags on a schedule.

PS - Any tips on controlling lint are appreciated.

Don't use any oil/lube inside mags. It just makes them harder to clean by being a moist dust magnet. Fortunately lint won't affect the operation of a pistol. Blow dust bunnies off weekly.

Here is a thought but I have never tried it. I would suggest only use it on the mags as well.
I'm in the window business and one trick we use on jambs and sliding door sills is Pledge. It's a wax that doesn't attract dust and is very slick.

Mags don't need to be made slick, since metal/plastic on metal is already slick.

Does anyone lube the top half of their AR mags and mag well?

I suppose a good blasting with canned air on a regular basis would be appreciated by one's magazines.

I've had to do this with my EDC "pen knives".
