I’ve done a few lowers but never an upper. I have every part on hand. Looking to have a gun shop install the barrel, gas block, gas tube, handguard, muzzle, forward assist and dust cover... Pretty much put together the entire upper without the bcg and charging Handle.

I’m local to Scott’s and I know he does good work but they quoted 8 week turnaround. Looking to have it done sooner if possible.

Anyone have a quicker option? I live in Pasadena

The upper is not too bad the biggest thing with the upper is getting the barrel on and depending on the handguard getting the gas tube and block lined up and secure. Beyond that 1 pin is needed for the forward assist, getting the spring for the dustcover installed right and then BCG and charging handle slide in like an AR15

Besides actually lining everything up correctly, I do not trust myself to dimple the barrel and I do not have any tools that can measure the torque of the barrel being screwed in. I’ve also heard it’s wise to have a gun Smith check your headspace before firing the weapon. Scott’s Gun Smith was willing to do it all for about $120 which is fair I just don’t want to wait eight weeks.
