Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I am a newbie to NFA purchases. My form-4 was done by SilencerShop kiosk and the check was cashed on 12/25. I was expecting around mid-late July approval and release. I got an email recently (on 6/11) from SilencerShop saying that...“Your silencer was just released from ATF jail! What's next? Shooting, more shooting, and even more shooting. But don't forget to register your new silencers! Registration is simple and helps protect your new investment. Click the image above to register your newest suppressor!”

The email doesn’t look like an official notification of any kind, it’s simply a reminder to register my new suppressor and this paragraph is preceded by a click the link to the registration form.

Now, the fact that my suppressor is “out of ATF jail” is completely news to me. My (newbie) question is how do you typically get notified when your ATF approval and stamp are released? Should I get something from the ATF directly, or would SilencerShop send another email of a seemingly more official nature, or does my LGS notify me (after of course someone notifies them)? Sorry if this is a dumb question, do I need to run this down (& how?) or do I just wait for my LGS to contact me? Your advice is appreciated.

ATF sends a letter in US Mail to the FFL with your stamp and forms. Your FFL will call you when that arrives.
