Not mine but a friends example. I'm still looking for one. I always thought they were interesting and I think its pretty amazing that over one million were produced in 11 weeks by 300 workers!

yup. there's actually several variations too.
The hard part is finding one with the original baseplate still intact (this one isn't original) and present.
The other thing to look for is the boss on the front of the cocking knob being worn because of people just turning it instead of pulling and turning.

yerp, I got a copy a while ago. Not a lot of pages but lots of info and pics.

Vintage Ordnance Company makes repros of the FP-45 but they were forced to rifle the barrel and add serial numbers due to the 1968 GCA.

Love to find one, but I'd have to shoot it.

heh, heh, good luck with that. :)

    http://www.liberatorpistol.com/firing-the-original---voco-reproduction-fp-45-pistol.html

"It is our position at Vintage Ordnance Company (VOCO) that it is flatly unadvisable to fire any original FP-45 Liberator Pistol because of some inherent weaknesses related to their design that could result in damage to the weapon and injury or death to the shooter or others in the vicinity."

They were only meant to be fired a few times.

This is one of the cleaner welds I've run across on these.

Always been fascinated by these so I just had to have one for the WWII pistol collection. Picked up a decent example several years back. No intention of ever firing it but it’s a neat piece of history!

They typically go anywhere from 1200-2500. If the original box and instructions are with it, could easily be double of that.
Vintage Ordnance makes excellent repros of the box and accessories too so you have to be vigilant.
