Good grief! Well, there are still a few restaurants open across county lines, I guess. What gets me (as someone who lives near the writer’s turf) is how gleefully eager some of these places are to do ANYTHING that they think will make the Karens happy.

Notable Bethesda exception: the Tastee Diner. They are being possibly gravely wounded by all this and aren’t shy about telling you all about it. They know their place is more hygienic than Home Depot and are furious at the disparate treatment. They get my pancake money and a big tip as long as they can survive, which might not be long.

Why would anyone comply with this nonsense given the new numbers out from the CDC??!?!? This is not nearly as deadly as everyone originally thought and the survivability rate is 98.99%
I mean it's time to start standing up to this ridiculous tyranny or it will destroy all of us!

I know my 16yo daughter won't be complying, and pass it along to her friends.

Because, at least in AA Co, health inspectors are gleefully looking for any reason to write violations and shutdown restaurants. Small businesses long ago gave up their rights by complying with business licenses, health codes and zoning.

At this point, much of the BS businesses are pushing on customers is nothing more than virtue signaling, beyond mandates or any reasonable sanitation effort. Of course there are mandated practices, and businesses have been threatened will all manner of fines and license suspensions, but instead of following the mandates, or pushing back, most are adding their own "mandates". We go to far fewer places now, those that are left primarily don't enforce mandates, or follow the actual mandates and nothing more, exemptions and all. If a buisness pushes mandates, especially those not required by the state, then I usually walk out, and don't plan on returning even if/when things get back to normal. There are a lot of Facebook groups to help find friendly businesses too, and have found some new favorites, so that helps. IMO the more we push back, and the more we don't comply, and support businesses that don't comply, the less likely they are to push new mandates and lockdowns, and the more it frustrates covidiots that want to force their ways on others.

****I used to go to the Tastee Diner years ago after hanging out at Joanna's in DC with some college friends. I'm glad they are still in business. Our local diner here in North Potomac has begun collecting information - they have a pad of paper with lots of pens that you are supposed to put in a dirty bin once you've finished writing your name, phone number, etc.. There were some pretty obvious fake names and phone numbers on that list (Milton Bradley, Annie Lennox, Peter Papaya, Hugh Johnson, etc.. )

An absolutely crazy Karen had a meltdown at the gym today as I was working on my pecs and quads; apparently some guy was running on a treadmill with his nose uncovered, and AND.... people in the indoor pool swimming laps aren't wearing their masks when they are sitting on the pool deck after finishing their swim and they are soaked...

The woman was really upset and thinks everyone is in danger, especially her, and if she gets Covid she will sue the gym and have it shut down...:sad20: I felt sorry for the manager having to listen to the rantings of this lady. She just would NOT shut up and wanted everyone with improperly worn masks kicked out of the gym immediately or she was gonna report it to the health mask authorities and contact the police for enforcement of the law... Dunno how it worked out in the end as she was making quite the scene and was thankfully escorted to a private office where hopefully she was calmed down through the art of either hypnosis or offered a coupon for a complimentary tanning booth session to tan her taint as is all the rage these days.

It's people like this who make me wonder just how far enforcement of all of these new rules will go if Biden gets into office, and the left is emboldened by their "mandate"....

I find that I follow this as best practice when buying guns too

You want my HQL to buy your long gun? F off

You want my HQL for your C&R firearm? The dealer and me will tell you to F off

You want to run a long gun through a dealer? F off

Follow the rules and do nothing more than mandated

definitely. polite a-holes that know their rights, push the line, and stand in defiance of this BS are the ONLY reason this crap will ever end. I am actually kinda shocked that the vast majority of people are still complying with most of the mandates. Up here a couple businesses have won lawsuits to basically nullify them, on top of several PD's refusing to enforce mandates, and the mandates themselves being unenforceable due to section 3 of the order(you are exempt if you have a reason, you do not need to share the reason, and are not required to provide any proof of that reason). It's weird that going throughout my day without a mask, keeping my distance, and staying home if I'm sick is considered somewhat taboo these days. It's rare that anyone is negative towards me, 90% of people politely ask how I am "allowed" to go throughout my day, they know it's BS, and most end up dropping their mask too.

Reminded me when I had to sign for a letter from school to bring home to my parents about poor behavior. Teacher said to sign my John Hancock and that was the name I signed. She didn't catch it and parents never saw the letter.......

Fixed it for you. I've been saying that since day 1. It's all over-the-top to protect their asses, and project the idea that you'll be safe in their business.

I go to my bank(walk up window) sans mask. I've been doing that since the beginning. I keep my intervals. Wait my turn. Nobody says chit to me. People are very courteous. No one gives me crap. Everyone else is masked up outside. I figure most think I've already had WuFlu. Works for me...
