Hey, folks.
I joined the forum a month or two ago
and planned to stay under the radar.
But, earlier today I read a post that
encouraged us new guys, we fresh fish,
to introduce ourselves. So, here I am.
From Port Jefferson, NY. Former AEMT-3, fire officer (truck company), ex-Army, former Federal law enforcement.
Moved to VA for the job in '86, for
"two or three years to punch a ticket".
LONG story short, I married a lovely lady from Charles County...her family has been there since 1757, and the North Carolina side beat that by 100 years. Heck, my family was still
stompin' grapes in Italy until about
1896...late bloomers, I guess...but I thank God they chose to come over.
When we had the argument about where we were going to settle, I lost.
I wanted to go back home to NY.
Go figure.
So, after a bunch of years
in Fairfax County, then in Port Tobacco,
we moved to Calvert to be on the
water (like back home on Long Island Sound) and because the schools have a deservedly fine reputation.
Retired about 5 years ago - wow, has that time flown. Gosh, my son leaves for Air Force basic on August 9th...
Feeling OLD!
Been shooting all my life. Collect Garands, other US military weapons,
and Civil War material. Used to be a
Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg, but Life got in the way. Hope to go back to it some day.
So, that's it.
Except that I just bought my first little black rifle. She is a Colt 6721 HBAR...this IS Maryland, after all. I pick her up next week and am eager to run some rounds down her pipe to see what all the excitement is all about.
Hoping that Maryland (and my dear home state of New York) wakes up before it destroys itself.
Best wishes to all.
